And More Ideas!

Tracy Brown sent me this list. I absolutely L O V E this! Thank you Tracy!!

In no particular order…

Tracy’s Top Ten Favorite Places to Leave A Dollar (so far):

  • Tucked inside the “baby changing” station in the women’s restroom in a restaurant or airport. Who needs a pick me up more than a busy, tired mom who is dealing with a crying, wet baby?
  • At the bus stop: rolled up and tucked into the holes on the pole of the bus stop sign or tucked between the slats of the bench where bus riders sit while waiting.
  • In the drug store tucked between 2 products likely to be purchased by someone having a bad day (for example, between 2 boxes of pain medication)
  • In the grocery store in the cereal aisle at child height - but always next to one of the healthier cereals.
  • Also in the grocery store, as I pull out a cart to use I’ll put a dollar bill in the next available cart for the next customer.
  • In any store that sells magazines, I stick a bill in the middle of a magazine so whoever buys that copy will find a special surprise.
  • At the public library I’ll put a dollar in the pages of a book on a currently “hot” topic . . . or in any of the books in the “new books” section.
  • At church I’ll put a dollar bill in the hymnal for the next person to find.
  • In the greeting cards rack I stick a dollar bill between cards, often in the get well, sympathy or encouragement section. I think people who buy cards to encourage others should get a little reward for themselves. :-)
  • I’ll fold a dollar bill into a small square and put it in the place where change is returned on vending machines.

You have sparked my imagination, Tracy, thank you so much!

Many blessings to you!

Todd

What lovely ideas from Tracy, thanks to both of you for the sharing.

The underlying compassion as a theme makes those found dollars even more precious, they carry a positive energy - too bad we’ll never know how that works out for people finding them while in need of a bit of sunshine.

    Thanks France!

I hear ya - we’ll never completely find out… But, I have a feeling that it works out for them quite well, in both the pocketbook, and their smile!!

    :D

    Blessings,

    Todd

Todd, thank you so much for the inspiration behind this idea. I have been having so much fun thinking of sneaky ways to leave a dollar, and I believe it opened the way for me to get my dream job. Now I work for Math Monkey, which is a learning center that helps children learn math tricks that allow them to do math very quickly and easily, and it has a lot of games which are really fun. It’s been my dream to help children with math since I had a lot of trouble with it as a child. I really think I got this job in large part because of following giving away a dollar a day for the last few months. Now the challenge is to go out of my way to go to places to leave the dollar!

    Thank you and blessings.

    Hi Todd,
Yesterday I I put a dolar in the towel despenser at work in the mens room. I would have loved to have seen the smile on the face of that person when they took ut the towel.

    Ron :-)
