Be. Do. Dream. Thrive.

I was in our local CVS Store, shopping for a birthday card for my nephew, Mark. He’s a young man who continues to inspire me with his belief in his own dreams, and who is now a successful car designer because he never stopped believing! So I knew I wanted to get him an uplifting, can-do kind of card.

I don’t think I was even in the card section for two seconds when I spotted this keeper…

I bought it right away, but…

I couldn’t yet leave the store because I hadn’t given away my dollar for the day. And this is where the fun really started…

Whenever I Give Away A Dollar A Day, I usually leave… well… a dollar! But e v e r y once in a while, I go for the stretch and leave a little more. This was one of those days… I left ten dollars!

But I got especially creative on this go-around. I had taken out ten ones beforehand, rolled them up tight, and rubber banded them together. So right before I left the card aisle, I put that roll inside of one of the Be Do Dream Thrive cards that was still up on the shelf.

So the next person to buy one of these inspirational cards…? Ooh yeah!!!!!

I love giving! And I am so grateful to be able to do it, every day!

Blessings,

Todd

Dear Todd: So happy to have found your blog! I am certain it was not by accident ;-) your story reminded me about one day last year when giving away some childrens clothing to charity, and I tucked a $5 bill into a secret pocket on the inside of a jacket…. I remember thinking how excited some little guy would be when he discovered it. Since finding you a couple of days ago, I have been doing this each day now, and the trickiest part for me seems to be not so much where or how to leave the dollar, but to leave it without my family “seeing” me do it. And, I love the Origami idea, I have mastered making the heart one~ Thanks Todd for your wonderful inspiration~ you are awesome!

    Hi Joyce,

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful stories. What you said about doing it without your family seeing it reminded me of a time when I did that in my business… http://toddsilva.com/total-stealth/

And the bill inside the jacket - I love this! May I have your permission to share that with others?

Thanks again, Joyce, and blessings to you!

Oh Todd, of course I don’t mind~ I am thrilled you would want to share the idea with others!
It truly is fun thinking of new ways to send out my dollar~ you could tuck one into a book or item you are giving to the thrift store, or I was thinking the next time I make it out to a garage sale, I could tuck one into an item there~ today is a bit windy, so I think today I will tuck one into a book I have already read, and perhaps leave it on the bench at the bus~stop
:-) all my best to you always!
