Today, I started something called Give Away A Dollar A Day.
Give Away A Dollar A Day is something that I do. And here’s how it got started…
It’s a story about my relationship with money, and how I made a lot of it years ago. And how I then lost a lot of it in the financial markets. And how I then lost my confidence. Then, in desperation, I had to settle for an entry-level sales job at the age of 48 with a family and a mortgage. And then I couldn’t sleep at night because, no matter how much we tweaked it, my wife and I couldn’t get our family’s expenses under my income, so we continued to drain what little was left in our savings. And then I watched a movie that played a very significant role in the unfolding of this story, but more on that later… And then, in a morning prayer-meditation, I “got” that it was time for me to begin to give away, to shift my focus from what I could get to what I could give.
And that is the really, really short and true version of how Give Away A Dollar A Day got started.
