Today, I started something called Give Away A Dollar A Day.
Give Away A Dollar A Day is something that I have committed to doing every day… and here is how it got started…
For much of my career, I have done pretty well financially. But a couple of years ago, I began to have some difficulties… Investments that didn’t pan out, and a shake up in my job, being in the line of fire of some layoffs. It was weird though, because I began to lose my confidence, not only as the provider for my family, but also as a husband and a father… and as a man.
I did quite a few things to try and turn things around, but it just wasn’t happening fast enough. I was even starting to have trouble sleeping at night… worrying all the time…
OK, now fast forward to just about a month ago…
Over the course of several mornings, during my prayer time, I heard, through the Voice Of Inspiration, that it was time for me to begin to give away, shifting my focus away from all the worry associated with how much I could get, and keep, and control, and cling to… over to what I could give.
So today I acted on that inspiration, giving away my first dollar. It was pretty amazing! Now, I have no idea where this is going to lead, or how it’s going to unfold in my life. But what I do know is that every time I’ve tried to analyze what happened and how this is supposed to help, I keep hearing the same thing from that same Voice Of Inspiration… “Trust”.
