How much is too much?

It’s Saturday morning, and I’m getting ready to pay the bills. Just opened the checkbook and saw this really big expense for groceries, and my first reaction was that I wanted to quiz my wife on why she spent so much.

Ooooohh……….

God, have I been here before…

Way too many times before…

Where I wanted to berate her for “exorbitant” spending.

But I quickly remembered that I was going against a commitment I have made - to be grateful for our expenses, to be thankful for the money that we do have, and to love these bills. Does that sound weird? It sure does to me when I write it and then re-read it.

I’ve got a choice - I can either be angry and blame someone else every time I have to write a check. Or, I can be thankful that I have enough money in our account to write that check!

I have no doubt as to the choice I choose right here and right now today.

Blessings to you and yours,

Todd

PS - Back to that “exorbitant” spending… That’s probably not a fair description at all. Yes, she spends a little more than if she went to the cheapest stores and bought the cheapest food, but, do you wanna know something? We never get sick! No medical bills. She buys healthy food.

It’s time for me to confess now that she knows what she is doing and it is the right thing for my family. And that… is priceless!
