I Ain’t Touchin’ It

So I was with a couple of team members of my company that were in from out of town. We were in our customer’s lobby getting ready for the next meeting. I had to take a quick bathroom break.

I hadn’t given away my dollar yet, so I decided to place it inside of the next paper towel to be pulled down from the dispenser on the wall right next to the sink. I walked back out to the lobby, and sat down, feeling pretty smug.

While we chatted some more in our group, one of my colleagues got up to go to the bathroom. Well… You know where this is going, don’t you?

After he was finished, he came back, sat down, and looked at the two of us, saying, “You won’t believe what just happened. A dollar bill dropped out of the paper towel dispenser when I took a towel!”

I asked him what he did with it, and he said, “I ain’t touchin’ it, because it seems like a trick, one of those ‘too good to be true kinda things’, ya know. So I just left it on the counter.”

And then, right before we moved on to the next conversation, he replied, “Now, if it had a been a one hundred…”

Hmmm…

OK, so the next time YOU find a bill in the paper towel dispenser… Take it! ‘Cause ya never know, it just might be a gift from The Secret Dollar Man!

    Wipe that smirk off your face.

    I always wondered how people react to finding something so amazing. It is a gift and yet they are skeptical.

    I am finding I am having the same problem with my site. We have been trained for too long that “if it is too good to be true then we can’t trust it”

    I actually had a lady who was cutting my hair said to me that her parents told her never to believe anything that you can get something for free.

    I believe you and myself and others that are givers can change this world. We are all one . And therefore everything is here for us to share.

    Hi David,

    That quote from Goethe is powerful - it is one of my favorites, too. Your site, http://iwannagivenow.com, has that same boldness and power in it! I can appreciate that there may be those who find it too good to be true and so they avoid it. I also accept the possibility that some folks might visit http://giveawayadollaraday.com and wonder if there’s a catch. But I think we’re both supposed to focus on and serve those who see the genius in these sites. I hope that you stay committed, David. Providence IS moving!
