Write a Comment»I have had another realisation about money and it is entirely down to this program.
My primary income comes from music royalties, quarterly in large amounts and I never really know what or when to expect it.
I am grateful for the continued income, because I have chosen to be a house parent and my partner is the main bread winner.
In a sense, I “don’t care” if I make money or not… Very bohemian…
It’s my story and it’s kinda cool and fun to be like this…
One of my New Year resolutions is “regular income” and today I realised I had clean forgotten to give away a pound a day. I made a commitment to do it, then forgot. Christmas (ironically the season of giving) got in the way.
Today, I went to the super market and got change for a ten and spent some time dropping pound coins in various places around the store.
What I noticed was, hiding the first pound made me feel great and I could have carried that feeling for the day. The subsequent coins weren’t as much fun but I did what was “owing” (sic). The last coin (today’s) has a wonderful story which I will tell separately.
Anyway…
The realisation I’ve had is that if I “GIVE” on a regular basis, the energy flow of money in my life might just become more consistent.
My wallet is like a dam holding back the flow, and Dollar-A-Day is like Dam Busters (or maybe a canoe – get me out of here).
Once I clear these rapids
The last pound I hid today was between two cartons of goat milk.
When I got to the checkout the goat milk I was about to purchase sprang a leak and a very helpful young lad rescued the carton, then asked if he would like for me to get him another. I smiled inside.
“Yes please” I said, knowing full well that goat milk is probably the least popular item on the shelf in the store and he was almost definitely going to find the pound.
When he came back I was looking for outward signs that he had found it (very hard for someone with Aspergers to do – LOL) and was thinking ‘he has to have it, I know he does’.
The whole experience really has me thinking about ‘Law Of Attraction’ again. The idea that there are these low-level-philanthropists leaving money all over the Universe is an amazing concept.
I left a coin in a lift and as I came out, a child ran into it, her mother grabbed her and was saying “no, we are shopping downstairs, only downstairs” and I was thinking ‘she would have found that if she had walked another two feet, I wonder what she is attracting’.
There is money lying all over this store, people are walking right by it.
Really thought provoking, I love it.

Yes, it is very simple. And, it is only a small amount, like a dollar, or a pound, on a loonie. But… when you do it every day, THAT is when the magic of Give Away A Dollar A Day begins to unfold for you!!
