Mukunda passed 1/6/2010--4 days short of his 13th birthday. He was such a part of my life that I never thought he could ever possibly die. Strangely, I don't think of humans in the same way. My family includes two indoor miniature schnauzers and one big old 'heinz 57' yard dog. I feel your pain of loss. I also greatly appreciate your insight in allowing this event to help you investigate your feelings about death and dying. As I have just embraced the ripe age of 53, I consider my own mortality. And you make a great point. I'm not afraid as much as I simply don't want to go. I want to live more and be more and give more and love more. I guess that means I need to get busy.
