Will You Help Unite The World Through Unconditional Giving?

I have come to realize that websites are living and breathing things… (or could it be that I’ve just been spending way too much time in front of the computer writing HTML…!)

As such, they change, they transform, they mature, over time. And they grow as the service or the business or the cause grows.

Give Away A Dollar A Day has grown, and matured. From the many, many stories and e-mails I’ve received from folks around the world, to the responses I’ve been blessed with during my talks about unconditional giving, I’ve found that Give Away A Dollar A Day is growing into a new and wonderful direction.

While Give Away A Dollar A Day is fun and sometimes even giddy, there is a deeper and very long lasting benefit to whoever begins it and stays devoted to it. Money is the symbol for giving with Give Away A Dollar A Day, but the internalized lesson of blessing is one of a heightened awareness of giving away unconditionally, every day.

And yes, I have a dream and a hope that enough folks around the world will do this so that we will, together, begin to care more about each because we give to each other, without any conditions or agendas.

Thank you for helping me realize this dream.

And please visit the new Give Away A Dollar A Day website and tell me what you think!

Blessings,

Todd

Jumping Mouse

A good friend of mine, Mr. 2020 (yep, that’s his legal name!), is a very wise soul and a gifted author. He recently published an e-book called “Jumping Mouse”. At first glance, it might seem like a children’s book… But after you get past the first couple of pages, you’ll discover the power and magic in it for folks of any age!!

“Jumping Mouse” is a fantastic book! And I want to thank Mr. 2020 for giving it away.

Get your copy here, and read it this weekend… you’ll be very glad you did!!!

Blessings!

Winning Your Inner Game

I’ve been giving away a dollar a day for just a little over a year now. And as I’ve told folks about it, many of them have thought it was such a good idea that they decided to do it, too. Lots of miracles have happened in my life since I began, some big and obvious and significant, and some small and refined and subtle.

I’ve heard from quite a few people who are doing this – a few of them are wondering when their miracles are going to start coming in, when their life is going to start getting better, and when they are going to move through their money issues once and for all.

I wasn’t sure how to address this though… So I had to think about it for a while. And then it dawned on me that healing and inner change were certainly not new to me – I had done years of personal and transformational inner work. On a personal level, I was READY for Give Away A Dollar A Day.

Why am I saying all of this?

Because if you want to make committed and lasting gains with Give Away A Dollar A Day – just like with anything in life – you must also do your inner work. You must devote yourself to winning your inner game and overcoming whatever beliefs of lack or negativity get in your way of progress and success.

Give Away A Dollar A Day is a fantastic, fun, and unique practice. And it is all that much more powerful when you combine it with reading and study, getting professional help when needed, beginning a committed prayer or meditation practice, or any other self-help or personal transformational work. I support you in doing whichever path or paths feel right to you.

Many blessings to you in creating the powerful shifts that you so much deserve!

The Car Wash

It was that time again today to get the car washed…

Not sure why – I guess it’s a habit – but although I always tip waitresses and waiters, I rarely tip the workers at the car wash. But today was different… It was early in the morning, and I must have just been feeling good or something! I had a dollar in my front pocket that I was going to give away later on, anonymously, but I decided that the lady who hand dried my car should get that dollar instead!

Now here was the really awesome part… What I got in return was a big huge smile from her!!! It was wonderful, and it made me feel like I was dancing up there on the clouds!

In fact, I felt so good afterward, that I decided I wasn’t quite done with Give Away A Dollar A Day today… So I gave away another crispy bill, this time putting it in the fuel filler door of a big ol’ 4 door, 4X4, Tundra V8 truck. I have no idea how much it takes to fill up that tank, but I guarantee that the owner will crack at least a little bit of a smile when they open up that door and a dollar bill rolls out!!!

Blessings to you in making a positive difference for someone today!

Giving Away For Ike

A couple of days ago, everyone in the Greater Houston area was getting prepared for the arrival of Hurricane Ike. Although it was far from being one of the most powerful storms in its strength, it was certainly one of the largest in size to ever hit the Texas coast. We decided to “ride it out” though, since we live about 70 miles from the coast.

Last Friday morning, with the storm about 24 hours away from making landfall, I thought it would be a good idea to stock up on some ice, just in case we lost power for a few days and had to ice down some of our food from the fridge and the freezer. I must have gone to half a dozen or so stores, and not one of them had a single bag of ice left! But what was kind of eerie was that I could really sense and feel the “energy” of all the last minute shoppers – there weren’t any fights or anything like that, but every one was notably tense and feeling quite anxious.

It dawned on me that it was time to help relieve some of that tension. I wasn’t able to buy any ice, but I did manage to drop a dollar inside the Kroger grocery store just before I left. And let me tell you, it wasn’t easy doing it anonymously with the store being as packed as it was!

What’s the moral of this story?…

There is ALWAYS an opportunity to Give Away A Dollar A Day, no matter what is going on out there in the world, no matter how much strife or struggle there may seem to be, no matter how difficult it seems life currently is.

Blessings to you – be safe, be well, and be generous!

Todd

PS – I actually wrote the above post the day before Ike made landfall 3 days ago. I did so because I thought we might be without power, and we were, for a little over 2 days. But as we try to restore our lives and return to “normal” in the wake of Ike’s wrath, I am becoming more aware of the widespread devastation it brought upon families, neighborhoods, and towns. My request is that you give in whatever way you choose and can at this time, because there are a lot of folks who need it. We were blessed with minimal damage, but thousands were not so lucky. Thank you.

Surrender And Let Go

When I began to give away a dollar a day back in the summer of 2007, I was in pretty rough shape financially. All (outer) indications said that I shouldn’t be doing this, because I didn’t have enough money to give away at the time. But I understood the deeper reasons why, and started doing it anyway…

What I was really doing was letting go, and surrendering to a Higher Wisdom.

Here is a passage from The Quest, by Richard and Mary-Alice Jafolla, in the chapter titled Surrender:

“Contrary to popular belief, surrender can be a positive decision, a positive act… When we surrender, we don’t sacrifice anything. We only lose whatever is keeping us the same. Actually, we don’t lose anything. We gain everything.”

Right on!!!

And blessings to you in the freeing feeling of surrender and letting go!

Can Give Away A Dollar A Day Work Everywhere?

Last night, I had a conversation with a friend who had just visited Israel on business. He was describing the ongoing tensions he had observed between the Jewish and the Palestinian peoples in the particular area he visited, and how the carrying of guns and weapons at any age is still commonplace. Afterward, I tried to imagine what it would be like to Give Away A Dollar A Day in a region currently embroiled in strife.

Most of the people who Give Away A Dollar A Day right now live in industrialized countries such as the United States, Canada, England, Australia, etc. I don’t know of any who are doing this in Third World countries, like Iraq or Sudan, where conflict and tension is a deeply embedded part of daily life.

But I also know that giving away and the love of the give away is (or at least, should be) the same everywhere, because it speaks to the very soul of every person, regardless of where they live or of what culture they are a part.

I would especially like your thoughts on this. Do you think Give Away A Dollar A Day has a home in all countries of the world?

Blessings, and thank you for helping me to continue to gain a better understanding of universal giving,

Todd

PS – I do want to mention here, that even though it’s called Give Away A Dollar A Day, this generous practice of every day, unconditional giving works with any currency, because giving is at its core, and at the heart.

Why Is Today Special?

Today, August the 29th, is a pretty special day to me.

Because it was exactly one year ago that I began to Give Away A Dollar A Day.

I could tell you how much my life has changed since, and because of it.

I could tell you that hundreds of folks around the globe are doing this and growing and healing incredibly because of it.

I could tell you how much of a difference it continues to make every day in my own family.

But what I really want to tell you is to trust your heart, listen to your own inner spirit, and begin today to Give Away A Dollar A Day.

A lot has happened in a year – you can read all about it here. And join in as we heal ourselves, each other, and the whole planet, from lack and poverty, and as we soar toward unconditional sharing and love filled abundance!!

Blessings!

Give Away A Euro A Day

My new friend, Jenny, wrote to me – “I’m having great fun over here in Ireland. I’ve adapted your Give Away A Dollar A Day to ‘Give Away A Euro A Day‘. I have to say it’s great fun because it’s not as easy or as quiet as dropping one of your dollars, so you have to be that much more sneaky if you don’t want someone to hear you drop it. Because most people will try to hand it back!”

“So I usually place it on my shoe stand at the door at work, and when no one is passing by I gently tap it off my shoe, then I wait to see who gets it. Lots of people walk right by and don’t even see it, which makes me realize that most people don’t see what is right under their nose. Whether it’s there for 2 minutes or 20 though, it always gets found and is always lovely to see the look on the face of the person that finds it. Thanks for opening me up to the joy of doing this.”

Wow, what an awesome story, thank you Jenny!

And many wonderful blessings to you,

Todd

PS – Give Away A Euro A Day is coming soon!!!

Is It Fake, Or Is It Real?

I work for a company whose headquarters are on Long Island. I was at there at a business conference, and, during a break, dropped my dollar by a copier in the customer service area on the 2nd floor.

I overheard two guys talking about it – did not see them, though, and didn’t know who they were. As one of them reached over to pick up the dollar and give it to the other, he was saying how he thought it was probably a joke. “You know those pranks where they tie it down or stick it to something so you can’t really pick it up?”

Well, it wasn’t too long before they both acknowledged that this one was real. Then one said to the other, “No, you found out, you keep it”.

So at first, they doubted its authenticity. And then, they argued, in a friendly way of course, over who should get to keep it!

So what would you say if you found a dollar bill on the ground? And then, what would you do?

Blessings in the surprise of your newfound abundance!

Hey, There’s Money In That Barn!

This one’s from my new friend, France, and it’s a great story about finding money!

Something cute happened that you might like to include in your writings sometime: last week I was helping a friend moving stuff out of his barn. Upon enterering the barn, I found 1¢ at the entrance. Inside the barn, I found 5¢ on the floor. After the job was done, we moved outside to get rid of some more stuff. On the grass, I found a dime. As I approached the fire pit looking for useless remnants to throw away, I found a quarter near the burnt grass. Notice the ascending chronology in the findings. All in the right order. Neat!

Thank you France, for sharing this inspiring story! May you continue to be blessed with prosperity and joyous surprise!

Blessings,

Todd

What Would You Do?

One of the most fun places I’ve ever given away a dollar is at our local Marble Slab Creamery Ice Cream Store. In fact, I’ve even included it in one my weekly e-mails that I send out, Inspirations From Give Away A Dollar A Day. I received such joy the first time I did it that I just had to do it again!…

I took our younger daughter to buy ice cream at the same store we originally visited. Reaching into my pocket, with bill in hand, looking around for exactly the right moment when no one else was looking, I slipped my dollar into one of the napkin dispensers. It was a hot summer day in Houston, so there were quite a few folks in the store. After I made my “deposit”, a boy, around 10 or so years old, got up to get a napkin and found the dollar. I didn’t see him do it, but I heard him as he excitedly made his way back to the table to tell the others he had just found a dollar! But then something happened…

A couple of seconds later, he walked up to the cash register to give the bill to the manager saying that someone must have “left it”. The manager was a little confused, but took the bill anyway.

I couldn’t help but wonder… Did the young boy do this kind deed on his own, or did his mom tell him it wasn’t his and that he must return it to the store?

I’ll never know…

But it made me wonder what I would do if I my daughter found a dollar… I’d say “Good fortune to you! You’re now one dollar richer! And don’t forget to be grateful to Spirit!”

So, what would you do if your child found a dollar?

And, what would you do if you found a dollar?

Blessings to you in joyous giving, and receiving, this day,

Todd

Flight 709

You know those paper towel dispensers in the bathrooms on the airplanes? The ones where they so neatly tuck lots of paper towels in one tiny little dispenser?

Well, I gently pulled back the fold of the towel in front and slipped my dollar in there, tucking it in, and hiding it as best as I could.

I’ll tell ya… Give Away A Dollar A Day makes me feel as giddy as a kid whenever I do it!!!

:D

Blessings to you!
