I was talking to my good friend, Chris, today. Chris is pretty fired up about Give Away A Dollar A Day and how it is uplifting his life. So he’s been out telling others about it. One of the folks he had talked to recently wanted to know how long a person should do it?
Wow, that was an interesting question…
I told Chris that when I got the initial inspiration to Give Away A Dollar A Day, I did let my brain take over for a few moments to go and work out the math… “Let’s see”, I thought, “One dollar times 365 is only 365 dollars per year. And what makes this sound even more do-able is that it’s only 30 dollars per month”. Although we weren’t in a positive cash flow situation at the time, I figured that was small enough to make it worth a shot.
So it was time for me to make a decision, and it was an easy one – I decided right then and there that I would begin and that I would do it from that day forward. Yep, we’re talkin’ for the rest of my life!
I did not start to Give Away A Dollar A Day with the idea of testing God or the Universe – with the idea that I would stop after 30 days if I didn’t get any “results”.
I urge you not to do it with this in mind, too.
Because if you’re starting it with a condition and the requirement that the Universe must respond to you within a certain period of time, then you are carrying an element of disbelief and distrust about it, no matter how small it may seem.
Only Give Away A Dollar A Day when you are ready to do it unconditionally… and not count it… and not look back… and not expect anything in return… and because you’re truly giving away just for the sake of giving away!
Many blessings, and most joyous giving to you and yours,
Todd
